Update: My development team is not nearly as motivated as I am to complete this quickly, but I 'd rather get there eventually than get there with a poor showing. Progress continues. Until we're ready, enjoy the latest teaser from the Game Options series.

Isn't it amazing how IT projects always get to 90% complete in no-time, then take forever to get anywhere near true completion. This whole thread should go in a textbook!
Breaking it down into three principle components, the database design is essentially complete and is undergoing tweaking for various rapid access reports, the web page design, now more than 50 pages, is 95% complete, precoding of the site is around 80% complete (and that's for four games, not just the one).
I'm very pleased with how it's going, how it looks, and the mechanics I've built in for handling the various issues that plague GC. The process has taken slightly longer than I had orignally planned due to the fact that I have added so many features, especially game options and admin controls. That's good though! :) I'm hoping that another one to two weeks will be enough to complete everything but the actual coding and completing the twelve maps for the games. I expect the coding to be completed very rapidly once it begins. Once I've locked in a coding team, I will ask for a few volunteers to give the site's web design a look over and provide comment. I will also likely hold a sort of online (IRC) press conference for you folks to ask questions. Once the principle coding is complete, I may ask for volunteer beta testers which may simply amount to allowing everyone to play for free in order to more readily seek out bugs and mechanics issues.
I appreciate the continued interest in the project and the input from the folks I've chatted with about various aspects of my site. I am very excited about this and truly hope that I can bring it through to completion. I'm anxious to start playing :)

He he, well I'm a good sport. A text book entry is probably a fair assessment and I could certainly reveal quite a bit from my first hand experience with this that has not been detailed in this forum. And not that I was unaware of the dynamics of such things, I simply got smacked by them with force. The delays have been due solely to problems with the chosen development company. Recently they fired the internal group that has been problematic. Hopefully the reorganization and rededicated effort will see this project through to completion. The positive side of the delays is that I used the time to develop Strategy Gamers 2.0. So what you will get is even better, far better, than what I originally designed. I have yet to tell you or even hint about the biggest game on the site...and I'm not about to now either. :)
I will keep you apprised while I continue to toil away on this project. Thanks all for the deep well of support and patience from which you draw.

Don't worry about us, Peace. We'll continue to keep ourselves occupied by these inane forums and whatever else we do to pass the time.
Keep up the hard work. And don't forget to spend lots of quality time with that new addition to your family.

will someone give her my address please..........
rolf, if you'd seen "psycho", and you would know that Urp doesn't really have sister (like Anthony Perkins didn't really have mother), you wouldn't ask him/her to be given your address......
Sometimes I see urp's "sister" too and I just close my eyes and think myself -"she doesn't really exist, she doesn't really exist..."
sorry urp, that i had to reveal your secret
