My business model has not changed. Still pay to play with a brief trial period and some exclusive premium level services. In fact it was strongly suggested to me by a high priced business advisor that I significantly raise my prices given the services I intend to offer and given the pricing scheme of sites offering similar products.

But yeah,we'll see what happens. Advertising would be great but you can't count on it as a start-up. Also, I'd like to keep advertising minimized as my research indicates that site users generally do not like it.

i don't see 99% of the advertising on the web, thanks to adblock plus.

just find it interesting, there are so few pay services anymore (at least the places i frequent.) seems the web 2.0 world changed a bit of that, user generated content and all.

web 2.0

BINGO!

don't be sly. i know it's one of those terms, but you know what i mean.

Imalwaysblack- 04-13-2008

don't be sly.

Reason #148 that Sea is a nice guy. Most of my friends would have said "Don't be an asshole!"

I think that's Pennsylvania Dutch for "You're an a$$hole!"

Peace's last post in here was April 11th. I can't believe June is here already. Hopefully work is still progressing. I just looked at my globalcombat account and saw i've been playing over there for 5 years and 36 days?

Yes indeed, working away as I have now found yet another new developer after a string of unreliable ones. Fingers crossed that this one has the professional staying power to complete the job.

Thanks, as always, for your continued support and patience.
Peace

Hello all,

My developer just returned from way too long a vacation for my liking. Working on some of the almighty game scripts. Has recently completed the very cool game management console for use by game creators and admins. Among other things, it allows you to roll back a turn, restart a game with the game board as it was round one, or restart the game anew with the same players/teams, but a different map distribution.

Meanwhile I'm working the bugs out of the alliance structure I have created for another game. encourages alliances but penalizes over use of them. Very fun stuff that I'm excited to get online for you.

Peace

if you were a girl , and GC was child forbidden intimate actions, then you would known in norway as "Lure-mus"

Lure = teasing , and the rest i think you get.

But as my friend said when we asked him why he bothered with girls were he aint getting some, he said its better to feel like you gonna get it , and then dont.
Then to never ever feel like you gonna get it at all.

PS. keep the good work up!

Personally, I've lost interest in GC and have become a TribalWars addict. I'm currently in denial and I hope to be cured by the time this new game comes out.

An update for the good folks that are following this project. Two very significant milestones have been achieved. Without revealing too much detail, I have now added virtually unlimited game boards (maps) to my site for the first game brand to be completed, and everything is in place to create, join, and manage games. Given the vast number of game options (millions of combinations) available to players, testing the data flow has been a major effort and all appears to be in order. Yea!

I won't offer an ETA for the first game's debut, because I've been down this road before with previous developers. The trick is to maintain the existing development pace and hopefully we'll be in for a treat sometime soon.

Peace
